My brother was operated on by Mr Teo and he was very careful to explain everything before the operation, which would last 3 hours and said he would ring me when it was over. I spend the morning waiting in Southmead Hospital and he rang me 10 minutes after the 3 hours to tell me that all had gone well and there was no bleeding and tumour removed with no injury to brain. He was reassuring about my brother's recovery and allowed me to see him in ICU almost as soon as he arrived in the ward. I was really impressed with the efficiency of the hospital and care taken of my brother.

Last November Mr Teo performed a craniotomy and re-section of left parasagittal/convexity meningioma on me for removal of a tumour. The operation was three hours and I was discharged after 48 hours with no pain and I didn't need any pain relief during my recovery. I went into the operating theatre at 8.30 am and my sister was able to visit me in ICU by midday. From my first appointment with Mr Teo everything went quickly and efficiently and I was seen without any waiting at each appointment. Mr Teo explained everything clearly and made sure I understood everything he said and telephoned me at home twice, once before and then after the operation. I have had another scan which showed complete removal of the tumour, Mr Teo was very reassuring and I feel confident about the future. I was able to return to work in January and will always be grateful to all the staff who treated me at Southmead Hospital.

Mr Teo removed a meningioma from my head! It was a 6 hour operation. He kept me well informed both before and after the procedure and was kind and reassuring at all times. He has kept in touch post-op.and has given me his number to contact should I have any queries or problems. I was discharged within 48 hours of the operation and the staples removed a week later. The wound is completely healed. 2 weeks later and I am back to normal - living an independent life and not needing any medication. What a skilful operator! I could not recommend this wonderful, self-effacing man more highly.

After suffering with pains in my leg and foot for almost two years I came under the care of Mr Mario Teo who performed a disc decompression at the Nuffield Hospital, (under the NHS), in Bristol. His manner was very friendly, and I felt I had a thorough understanding of the procedure and likely outcome. His attitude was professional and caring listening to my concerns and questions. I felt under no pressure at any time and was confident with the care and surgery he performed.

My experience from the very first time i met with Mr Teo was excellent. He had time for me and answered all of my questions honestly and reassuring me with answers I understood. He explained everything that would happen during my craniotomy, and told me what he wanted to achieve, which was to save my life and my sight, both of which he succeeded in doing. He told me everything about what would happen afterwards and put my mind at rest. Before and aftercare was excellent with him coming to see me numerous times whilst I was in hospital, which was only 5 days, but did exactly as he said he would. Mr Teo was very professional all the way through my treatment and I never once doubted anything he said. He also answered my husband and sons questions honestly and reassuringly. Mr Teo has a lovely sense of humour and made us smile about things too. He was very positive about my operation, although he did state all the facts about pros and cons, but put our minds at rest. I would recommend Mr a Teo as a top neurosurgeon and would not hesitate to see him again if I ever needed to in the future. Never be afraid to ask a "silly" question as he always answers honestly. My scar is under my hairline and you cannot see it at all now (12weeks after), I've had my follow up seeing Mr Teo and everything has happened as he said from the beginning. You are in very safe hands with Mr Teo, and we can only say how good he is, because there is nothing negative to say at all. To anyone reading this, ask those questions that are bothering you beforehand, and I can assure you knowing what is planned for you helps you get through it. Mr Teo saved my life and my sight and I will continue to see him over the next 10 years with no hesitation at all. A truly remarkable neurosurgeon, thank you for reading my review.
